Frequently asked questions
Volunteers help with a number of projects to further our mission to end hygiene insecurity. This could include hands-on volunteering such as packing hygiene kits, sorting and counting products, and boxing products for distribution. Volunteers can also take on longer-term, skills-based projects such as research, technology or legal projects.
Email amacdonald@hopeandcomfort.org to learn more about volunteer opportunities. Please note we cannot guarantee volunteer opportunities for everyone, and we typically book 6-8 weeks in advance for group volunteer events.
We welcome groups of up to 15 volunteers to our warehouse. Typically group volunteer shifts are booked 6-8 weeks in advance, although availability may be further out depending on our schedule. Email Abby at amacdonald@hopeandcomfort.org to learn more.
Volunteers should dress in comfortable clothing they can move in easily, and don’t mind getting dirty. Layers are also encouraged as temperatures can fluctuate in the warehouse. For example: jeans, a t-shirt, and sweatshirt are totally appropriate! Closed-toed shoes are REQUIRED; comfortable sneakers are strongly encouraged.
